The gods have seen the glorious battles the BloodRunes have wrought and they are pleased. The halls of Valhalla echo with the revelry of the fallen Einherjar.

In this twilight era before Ragnarök, the gods hunger to partake in the splendor of combat and offer aid to the worthy. Yet, their divine favor is not bestowed upon the faint of heart. Only those who dare to invoke their power with offerings of Fortune shall receive divine intervention.

But beware, curses impede the path to victory and the tides of conquest can turn quicker than ever.

Prove your worth. Please the gods. And glorious triumph shall be yours.

What’s New?

First, I want to say a big thank you to everyone who helped make the original BloodRunes Kickstarter successful!  I literally could not have done it without you, and I hope you’ve spent many glorious hours Raiding and Warding with your friends. Thank you so much for your support. BloodRunes now has 8/10 on BGG and 5 stars on Amazon! And that’s all thanks to you! ❤️

Now for the good stuff!  Curse of the Gods aims to keep everything players love about BloodRunes and add on all the abilities players have been asking for.  Along with the Spell River and the Rune River, there will now be an Altar of gods.  A deck of 25 unique god abilities showing three at a time will sit across the edge of the mat, unlocking previously unforeseen powers.  But these powers aren’t just available to anyone. Only casters who sacrifice one of their Fortunes can invoke the power of the gods.

These amazing abilities speed the game up a good amount, so to slow it back down to about an hour of gameplay, we’re introducing new spells called Curses that will curse other casters with a Curse in the place of where a Fortune should be, impeding their ability to win the game and allowing you to steal runes from their hand.

Curse of the Gods includes the 25 god cards, 8 curse spells, 16 colored tokens which are curses on one side but can be used as Fortunes on the other, and a couple accessories for certain god cards like a D12 of runes that works with the Eye of Odin card and Zealot tracks that work with the Kvasir’s Blood card allowing some of your acolytes to take two actions per turn instead of one!

For Curse of the Gods, we wanted to keep all the aspects that BloodRunes fans love and integrate the powers everyone was asking for. The game play is now much more intricate, with more choices and strategy than ever.
